I find this very useful because I noticed that I just always use the same database over and over. When I open a “New Query” window, I always have to select the database from a drop down list or type the USE command the harder way. So I searched google and find solutions if I can modify the ‘New Query’ window to have a default text in it when I open it.

This blogpost saved me from it: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/buckwoody/archive/2009/10/28/templates-for-new-query-window.aspx

I just followed the steps and formatted the text according to what I desire and now, everytime I open a new query window, I don’t have to go through the drop down list to select the same database over and over.
